Paddling distances are flexible; you can stay in the immediate cove for a relaxing hour or venture further along the shoreline for longer exploration. Access to Pinnacle is straightforward, located just 2.1 miles from downtown Terrell via local roads. The launch area has adequate parking and a gentle concrete ramp suitable for all paddling craft. March through November represents the ideal paddling window, with water temperatures comfortable from May through October and calmer conditions typical in spring and fall. Winter months are paddleable but chilly, and late summer can bring afternoon thunderstorms. Bring sunscreen and water even on short paddles, as the open lake offers little shade once you're away from the shoreline. Services including restaurants and gas stations are available in nearby Terrell, making this a convenient half-day or full-day destination.
