About The Paddling Hub
The Paddling Hub is a free paddling directory built to answer a simple question: where can I put my kayak in the water near me?
Finding public water access should not be hard. But if you have ever searched for a boat ramp or kayak launch, you know the information is scattered across dozens of state agency websites, county park pages, and outdated forum posts. We built The Paddling Hub to put all of that in one place.
What You Will Find Here
Every listing includes the details that actually matter when you are planning a trip: GPS coordinates, water body type, launch style (ramp, beach, carry-in), difficulty level, available amenities, and what kind of paddling the spot is best for. Whether you are looking for a calm lake to try kayaking for the first time or a tidal estuary to explore by SUP, you can filter and search to find the right spot.
Beyond the directory, we publish paddling guides covering everything from state-by-state recommendations to beginner how-to articles, and we maintain a gear section with honest recommendations for kayaks, SUPs, PFDs, and accessories.
Where Our Data Comes From
Our foundation is the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) ScienceBase dataset of public boat ramps and water access points. This is the same data used by federal and state agencies for water recreation planning. We supplement this with information from state Departments of Natural Resources, Fish and Wildlife agencies, and public recreation databases.
Each location is verified for coordinates, enriched with water body and access details, and given a unique description. We do not scrape or duplicate content from other sites. Every description on The Paddling Hub is original.
How We Keep the Lights On
The Paddling Hub is free to use and always will be. We support the site through display advertising and affiliate partnerships with outdoor retailers. When we recommend a product in our gear guides and you make a purchase through one of our links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps us keep building and improving the directory.
Our editorial content is never influenced by affiliate relationships. We recommend what we think is genuinely useful for paddlers, not what pays us the highest commission.
Submit a Location
Our directory is always growing. If you know of a great paddling spot that is not listed, or if you spot an error on an existing page, we want to hear from you.
